Enclosed Zone tab

Used to specify the magnitude of an enclosed zone load and the zone definition to use.

SettingDescription
Zone Name Select a previously defined enclosed zone definition name from the drop-down list.
Intensity Specify the pressure of the zone load in the current force per square length units.
Tip: Negative values can be used to reverse the load application direction.
Direction Select the direction of load application for the enclosed zone:
  • Local Z - normal to the plane of the enclosed zone

The load is applied using the "right-hand rule": if a enclosed zone boundary is defined by nodes in a counter-clockwise order, then a positive value loads in the positive local Z direction. Conversely, if a enclosed zone boundary is defined by nodes in a clockwise order, then a positive value loads in the negative local Z direction.

  • GX / GY / GZ - parallel to one of the global model axes.

This option represents a projected load along a global axes. This can be particular useful in applying wind or snow loads.
